VCE breakfast dress code

I have no idea where to put this

I got invited to a VCE breakfast, which is just year 12's, people who got the highest study score for their subject, and teachers. Also it seems parents as well because my mum is going.

I have no idea what the dress code is. It's an awards thing so I would think formal, but it's a breakfast so informal?

The only photo I could find of last years was of the principal shaking hands with the dux, it was taken outside though so I don't know if it was taken during the event or before/after. The principal was wearing a suit and the dux was wearing jeans and his grad hoodie so it's really no help anyway 😂

Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm supposed to wear? I considered emailing a grad I'm sort of friends with but I doubt she checks her school email any more.

If there's any TC grads on here tell me lol but I don't think anyone from my school is here.

I would go smart casual here. Wear something nice, like if you're female, go with a nice top and a skirt or a dress in the warm weather. If you want something a little less girly, then go with something with a similar standard. If you're male, then nicer pants/shorts than you would when you meet your mates and a nice shirt that you would prefer to be photographed in.
