Tips on getting 45+ English + Tutoring

~About Me~
My name is Felix Liu, I graduated from Melbourne High School with an ATAR of 99.75, attaining a 45 in English and high 40 study scores across many of my subjects.

~The Key to Success in English~
English was undoubtedly the most daunting subject I faced this year. At the start of the year, I would struggle for hours on end staring at a blank word document with only the essay title, often not even knowing where and how to start. Yet throughout the year, I took a methodical and systematic approach to English, that every student will be able to manage, developing a set of structured study guides. These study guides were compiled with guidance from experienced English examiners and other high scoring students, dissecting the infamously difficult subject into small, understandable steps to achieving that high 40. 

As an English student whose essay scores went from 6-7/10 at the start of the year to consistently getting 10/10s by the end of the year, the two most important and difficult to master skills are;
1-refining expression and vocab
2-generating original ideas

With my teaching geared towards the new study design, I have spent hundreds of hours fleshing out my own ideas and expression. Not only will I help you develop further on these original ideas, I will also provide specific feedback and points of improvement that I hope you will find far more useful than the haphazard feedback from teachers.

~Why Me~
As your tutor, I will help you develop your own strategies, as well as giving you my own on refining these two skills. Hopefully with my help and my simple systematic approach to English, the subject doesn't have to be daunting, and I promise to make the year engaging and as stress-free as possible.

As part of my approach, I will also provide phone and email support 7 days a week, as I hope to become not just a tutor but a mentor equally committed to your success. Should you have any questions outside of lesson, I would be glad to help you out in any capacity I can. I will also provide students with my extensive collection of exclusive notes and resources provided by most elite selective schools in Victoria.

As it is my belief that tutoring extends beyond the academic component of VCE, I am committed to guiding students throughout their personal journey. I hope to be a compassionate and empathetic tutor, making the journey a deeply profound and rewarding experience.

~Details~
I live in the Glen Waverley area, and will be available to tutor both in person (CBD or in local areas) and online. My arrangements are flexible, and I will try my best to accommodate what best suits you. Currently I am available 7 days a week.
I am only charging $40 an hour, with the first trial session free of charge. I look forward to getting in contact with you!
