Melbourne Science and Monash Science/Commerce

I am conflicted between doing Melbourne Science or Monash Science/Commerce double degree. I know commerce/business is well known at Monash but it's quite far from where I live (almost 2 hour via public transport).

In the end I aim to go to Melbourne Dentistry so should I do Melbourne Science? Will that better get me in?

I am most interested in science, but also enjoy commerce (if I go Melbourne I can do breadths) but I feel like doing a degree in case I don't get into dentistry and it'll give me better qualifications. I am always told Melbourne as it is more prestige and better for jobs due to this. Could you guys also give me insight on employability and work experience for both universities?
