Biology Prac Reports

Hello!

I'm a bit stuck, I have to write a prac report for my sac. And I was just wondering whether it was necessary to provide a reason for my hypothesis. All my teacher said we had to include in our prac report was an aim and hypothesis,a list of materials, our results and conclusion. She said that we weren't allowed to discuss anything at all in our report. What would I be able to include in my conclusion then?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone were to reply with even just a sentence. Thanks in advance!  :)

Generally speaking, you don't really need to explain your hypothesis, as it really just is a prediction of what you think is going to occur. As for the conclusion, you basically state the results and then state whether they support or contradict your hypothesis.

Hey, welcome to AN :)

Normally the reason for your hypothesis would be in your introduction, but as your teacher has not told you to do an introduction, you do not need to provide a reason.

Your conclusion is just saying:
The results support/do not support the hypothesis that [repeat your hypothesis here] because [reason].

For example if your hypothesis were ‘more apples grow on each tree on average at farm A than at farm B’

Then your conclusion might be:

The results support the hypothesis that more apples grow on each tree on average at farm A than at farm B, as farm A had an average of 4.3 more apples per tree than farm B.

You should not try and describe all of your results, just one sentence that says why your hypothesis was supported or rejected.

Edit: Beaten to it, but I’ll leave this here anyway.
