Hey there gang!

So we're working on photosynthesis at the moment and I was curious to know whether anyone had any interesting videos/strategies/resources to learn the light dependent and light independent stage? It just feels like a struggle to study it due to the amount of chemistry involved (I'm not a chem student which makes this a little harder). I'm trying to get my head around it but I think i'm going to lose it if I read the word proton or electron one more time in my textbook. I need a more interesting approach to it  :(

Thanks in advance!

Khan Academy was very helpful for me, although it did go into a lot of detail. Doing edrolo, textbook questions and checkpoints really consolidated my understanding of photosynthesis

Hey there,
So for photosynthesis, you don't really actually need to know the specific details of the biochemical pathways etcetera. At VCE level, all you need to know are the inputs, outputs and location of where they happen. You were talking about protons and electrons and how they were confusing you, but they’re actually really simple concepts. Basically, electrons follow the rule OILRIG – Oxidation is loss, reduction is gain (of electrons), just think of electrons as subatomic particles. On the other hand, protons are just hydrogen ions – so hydrogen atoms without electrons. You don’t need to know the details about the protons, just that they are provided by NADPH in the light independent stage and that NADP collects protons
