Mod B- Citizen Kane key scenes

Hi everyone!!

I was wondering if someone could please help me out with choosing my key scenes for the exam, which is an essay on Citizen Kane?

These are the scenes that I have chosen but I was wondering if anyone thinks that there are more significant scenes that I should consider?

-Opening scene
-Close scene
-Love nest confrontation (when Kane is exposed by Gettys)
-Love on his terms (post-election scene where Kane is defeated)
-Post-suicide
-Life at Xanadu (right at the end with just Kane and Susan)
-News on the march
-Leland's second memory (where he writes the bad review)
-Childhood sled
-Newspaper fun (Kane is younger and irresponsible and fun in the inquirer office and it's through Bernstein's memory which I could link to the theme of truth, I guess?)
-Maybe the picnic scene?

These are heaps but I was just wondering what you guys thought :)

I'm sort of stressed out because I really want to do well in this exam and just want to make sure that I go in there feeling really prepared to answer any kind of question that they may throw at us !

Thank you!  ;D

Hey! I didn't study Citizen Kane but our English Mod dancing phalanges did, and they shared this great scene analysis to our Notes section. They picked nine key scenes - Might be worth seeing how it compares with your list? :)

I know this is useless because I'm replying so late but I rarely find anytime to reply in detail to things during the day and my down time tends to be 11pm-onwards so just quickly - the significance of each scene is really dependent on what question you get. You should be choosing scenes based off which is significant in answering the question and reflecting the values of the question rather than just whether the scene is significant. For me, the signing Declaration of Principles scene was critical in expressing moral ambiguity and a loss of ethics in the pursuit of power/ambition. The closing scene is very significant in visually representing the emotional emptiness of Kane despite his material wealth. As Jamon said I cover all the main ideas of the scenes in the document he linked :)
