Hi guys

Really worried right now but currently i'm doing the bachelor of arts and i want to transfer into arts commerce next semester. during week 3/4 i talked to both the commerce and arts faculties and they told me just to 75% average to be considered and all that and i'll be able to get in. So finally, transfer applications opened and when i put down the course i want to transfer to (B2020 Commerce and Arts), it says "A course transfer is only available to current students enrolled in a Business and Economics course."

and right now i'm panicking soooooooo
please help guys, what's wrong!?

edit: alright asked commerce faculty and they said it's a new rule where only business students can change mid-year which sucks for me :( but oh well...

This probably isn't as big of a deal as you would think. What you can do next semester is simply choose commerce units as your electives, continue with your arts units, and then apply for transfer at the end of the year :) You should be able to get credit for all your arts units, and any commerce units you have done. Have a look at the commerce first year core units available here (under 'Part A. Commerce specified study (48 points)').

Hope that helps :)

Didn't know they made that rule, interesting. I transferred mid-year in 2015 to Arts/Economics, which required the same 75% average you need. It sucks you have that stress for another semester!

just another question guys regarding wes and unit enrollments.

I did 3 units this semester because the faculties (arts and business) recommended it for the "mid-year" transfer ( :( ) ... so now i'm trying to change my units on WES into 2 commerce units and 2 arts units. HOWEVER, it come's up with an error saying that
""No changes to your enrolment have been saved.
Problem: You do not have enough credit points in the first half of 2018. You have tried to enrol in 18 credit points (CP) which is not enough credit points in the first half of 2018.
To resolve this error: You must update your unit enrolment to include more credit points for the first half of the 2018 academic year and submit again. You will get a transaction number to confirm your enrolment.

If you believe this credit point requirement does not apply to you, or if you would like to reduce your study load, contact your Faculty for course advice.
Visit Study Load for more information.
Normal deadlines apply for adding a unit and discontinuing a unit.
If WES will not allow you to submit a unit discontinuation, ensure that you contact your Faculty immediately in writing with your request.
Summary of your attempted total enrolment:
For the first half of 2018 you have attempted to enrol in 18 CP, which is not enough credit points.
For the second half of 2018 you have attempted to enrol in 24 CP.

No changes to your enrolment have been saved. Error 92198"

really confused and once again worried hahaha... :'( any help would be greatly appreciated!

btw! last week  i talked to arts faculty and explained my situation to ask if i could use 2 of my electives to do commerce next semester and continue with 2 of my arts units and they said 100% possible.

I'm assuming all you're doing is changing your second semester units? Sounds like you need to be manually enrolled in the units you want for next semester because it's still accepting your 3 units for this semester (which at this stage you can't change on your own) as if it was a new enrolment.

Go into the Arts Student Services on the 2nd floor of Menzies when they open again on Monday from 9am, or send in a ticket/email through ask.monash. I recommend just waiting for Monday and visiting them in person, ask.monash isn't monitored outside of business hours I think, and it can take awhile because they have to forward it to the student services anyway.

Ohhh okay, that's reassuring haha. After having too much things backfire on me in terms of uni courses/units i was a bit scared haha! Thanks a lot !
