Hey everyone,
For this question 'compare AAS and flame test as methods for metal analysis' I was wondering if anyone could help me if I'm on the right track on how i'm answering it? I talk about:
-Flame test is qualitative but AAS in quantitative
-Flame test is useful for identifying what cations are present in a metal salts but AAS is useful for determining the conc. of metal ions in solution
-Flame test is not that reliable because wire may be contaminated and may emit a flame colour that isn't correct (so test isn't that effective) but AAS is reliable because of the specific wavelength and so other metal ions don't interfere with each other during the process etc...
-They both identify
Not sure if this is right and what more I could add??
Btw I wrote these points on here really briefly.
Thank you
