UPDATE: Do I have any hope for an external transfer? YES I BLOODY DO.

Hi all,

This is more of a general question- if you failed 2/8 units but managed to do well enough in the other units to get a WAM of 75 can you still be considered for an external transfer into the IT degree at Monash or is that no longer an option?

Internally, my grades were 75 and 87 respectively for each of the units but I bombed the exam due to my wisdom teeth deciding to become infected near the exams (they were the last ones).

Edit: Okay I've recieved a conditional offer today. I just called them to ask wtf does that mean because they implied that they just need the certified docs that I sent them already( which don't include the current transcripts that have the fails on my uni transcripts). They said they'll get back to me in 2 business days since it's friday it's going to be 4 days. Probably going to be the most stressful 4 days of my goddamn life.

Hi there,

Since you have completed at least two units of university study, you can check out this link here for information about non-year 12 applicants. However, from what I've read, it appears that you must also have satisfied the VCE/year 12 prerequisites as well (since you have less than a full year of university study). If you meet the minimum requirements, then you should be eligible for a spot

It's always best to check directly with Monash though - they have their contact details listed on their website.

Thanks for the reply! I was just wondering if 2 Fs would automatically disqualify me even though my other grades have been quite good. From what I take it- as long as my WAM is above 70+ I should still have a chance right? Like they're not going to veto my application because I have 2 Fails?

I haven't read anything that seems to say otherwise. Again, the only way you can find out for sure is contacting Monash directly
