University of Adelaide?

I've been wanting to find a Uni that runs a double degree of Bachelor Arts/Bachelor International Relations, and I finally found one (Adelaide uni).
That's great, but I'm shocked at the ENTER (or TER), of 65.05.

I know it's pretentious to overlook something just because it doesn't sound very prestigious, but I was hoping on an ENTER of roughly 95 or so, and this is a massive drop.

So my basic question is, given that Uni. of Adelaide is ranked in the top 100 world uni's (from this I would assume the course would be decent), am I being a wanker for being put off this course just because it's too easy to get into?

Daniel.

Also, could there be advantages to doing a course without a lot of competition.  Ie. would it be much easier to gain bursaries etc?

Short answer, yes. Long answer, the quality of a course isn't determined by its ENTER requirement. If there's not a lot of demand for courses (and this is common in unis outside of Melbourne and Sydney) then the ENTER requirement will be lower than you expect.
That being said, 65 is extremely low. This was the University of Adelaide, you say, and not the University of South Australia or something?

Also, could there be advantages to doing a course without a lot of competition.  Ie. would it be much easier to gain bursaries etc?
Not particularly likely - I wouldn't rate the chances of there being a scholarship just for that course.

Btw have you looked at the Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) at ANU? Not a double degree, but seems pretty similar to what you're looking for...
VCE 2006
PhB (Hons) (Sc), ANU, 2007-2010
MPhil, ANU, 2011-2012
PhD, Princeton, 2012-2017
Research Associate, University College London, 2017-2020
Assistant Professor, University of Virginia, 2020-

Feel free to ask me about (advanced) mathematics.

I think it's generally not offered as a double because International Relations is an Arts major, and so it's kind of like BA/BA. That said, ANU does Asian Studies/Arts and Asian Studies is rather artsy too (actually, that degree might be worth looking into as well).

Humph: I had initially planned to do that Bachelor of Arts (International Relations) but I was put off because the number of electives would be quite limited if I intended to complete honours. (I think it worked out to three subjects of free choice)

Eriny: I'll look that one up, it could be worth considering.  After all, ANU seems like a top uni (I'm sure you guys will vouch for that)

You're looking at this, right? http://studyat.anu.edu.au/programs/3100XBINTR;study_options.html

If I've read correctly, including the compulsory honours units, you have six subjects of free choice (or five, if you choose the Asian language major): three at first-year and three (or two) at later year level. That's pretty good if you ask me.

Late reply, but oh well. :p
