There’s like no people who tried out in my school besides for me.
Does that mean that I have no chance to get in?
Its just your performance compared to every other student that tried out for selective school, not your school unless it reaches the 5% rule intake
2020 - Vietnamese SL (33) / R&S (37)
2021 - English / Chemistry / Methods / Spesh / Biology

If you want a language that has good teachers and is pretty chill to learn, as well as one that is quite useful to know. I defs reccomend German.

I got into MHS and was wondering if the German teacher would be good, better then my previous italian teacher and be kind and not stereotypical, etc.  ;D

Hello jack Zhou, I can tell ur a MHS person, I have a question, are MHS teachers very strict or kind and is the study very hard, I’m in a selp program at Werribee secondary, so would MHS curriculum be more difficult or be different to a selp program. I’m going to MHS next year for year 9  :D

Hey guys, I got my offer for Suzanne Cory HS around 9:30 on August the 8th. Of course I accepted it, but a lot of people got accepted into MHS from my school, and I do think of myself as a top student in my current school, and given that if I put MHS first preference, I would have got in, (maybe-probably). So, feeling a bit jello’ with most my friends, and my best friend from primary school going to MHS. But what the hey, I got into a selective school, and in the end, it’s the students that makes up the school. ;D

I got into SCHS! Does anyone have any recommendations for extra-curricular, or pathways in Suzanne Cory HS? My interests being: cricket, soccer, EDM music, (both producing and listening [please subscribe at ‘Raaif Mollah’ on YouTube]), biology, and other sciences, in aspiration to becoming a doctor. :)

For those who have gotten rejection letters, I've got a good story for you all.

I have a family friend who tried out for MHS year 9 entry last year. He unfortunately did not get in, and didn't get any superiors. He worked really hard during the holidays and got ahead for maths, whilst read a lot and wrote heaps of essays for english. He tried again for year 10 entry and got in with four superiors!

So keep your head high and don't give up. I remember how stressful it was back in my time particularly because within my community it was thought that you HAVE to get into a select-entry school to do well in VCE (unless you can afford to go to a prestigious private school). Let me tell you from my experience, and so many other friend's experiences that it isn't. If it's your first time trying, keep persisting and build resilience, try out for year 10 and year 11 entry. If you still don't get in, remember that you can still do really well in VCE regardless.
2013-2014:| VCE
2015-2018:| Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) @ UoM
2019-X:| Doctor of Dental Surgery (discontinued)
2019 -2021:| Master of Physiotherapy

Currently: Physiotherapist working at a musculoskeletal clinic. Back pain, sore neck, headaches or any other pain limiting your study? Give me a PM (although please do see your personal health professional first!)

Any questions related to pathways towards studying dentistry or physiotherapy? Gimmi a PM!

well that depends on who you get. The content you learn in maths and stuff will probs be the same, but theres a lot more work.
