Specialist Maths in Year 12 or University Bridging Program(Software engineering)

Right now I am choosing my VCE subjects for year 11. I am in a situation where I need to choose between Specialist or Further. Right now in year 10 I am learning General Maths Unit 1 and 2 which means next year if I choose to go down the path of Further/ Methods, I will have to do the University Bridging Program. I am at the top of my co-hort for year 11 General Maths aswell.
My Math teacher recommended me to do Methods Unit 3/4 next year as I am doing good at Advanced Maths (pre-method maths), getting between 98% and 100%.
Subjects: English Lanugage, Physics, Chemistry, Math Methods and (Further or Specialist)
How strong is the Engineering (Specialist) briding program at RMIT, Melbourne and Monash compared to doing Specialist at VCE?
How far behind are engineering students without Specialist going into first year?
Is the bridging program mathematics harder than specialist maths?
