Incorrect study score

Hi, I know this might be super rare, but in the potential case that someone suspects they were given an incorrect study score by VCAA, how would they go about this? Assuming VCAA is capable of making mistakes??

When you get the letter from VCAA on Wednesday, you can apply to have your statement of marks sent to you. That tells you what mark you scored for each question. After that you can apply to have your exam script remarked and re-looked at if you believe that there's a mistake. It definitely does happen, as I know someone who got their methods score upgraded due to a mistake in multi-choice marking.

You could potentially try the PRAS or better, calling VCAA if it’s most likely false.

Does anyone think I received an incorrect score for chem? They gave me a raw 37. Shouldn't I have gotten at least 39, if not 40? I wrote my answers on the data book during the chem exam and checked my answers thoroughly and I'm pretty sure I got minimum 190/240 for it.
Attached: These are data values from the Graded Distributions for 2014-2017; they're what you needed for a minimum A+ in each Graded Assessment.

Its quite a small standard of error so i cant be sure.

A 190/240 is probably a low/mid A on the exam so it already makes ir unlikely to get a 40 imo and your sacs couldve scaled anywhere.

If you still feel it is a mistake I would apply for a statement of marks to make sure they did everything correctly.

How long does it usually take for a statement of marks to arrive?

From memory it takes less than a week so if you order them now you should get them in less than a week.

Thanks, and does the statement of marks tell us the exact marks we got on the exam?

Yep. It'll say how many marks you got on each question and you're overall marks for the exam

I think this year's exam a lot of people found relatively easy, as it was very similar to the past few years as well as northern hemisphere exams. That would push the A+ cut off up considerably. Lol I thought I did well enough coming out of the exam.
But I got a B+ so there you go. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So if we want to have an inspection of our exam, do we have to order a statement of marks along with it?

Yep, there's no marks or answers on the copy of your exam you see when inspecting it so you need the statement.

yeah statement of marks just tells you how your study score was calculated e.g. scaled sacs/exam mark etc

By ordering SoMs you aren't telling VCAA that they got your results wrong.
