Got my statement of marks back, inconsistencies

Hey guys, I got my statement of marks back for accounting today, and from what I can see there are a lot of inconsistencies. There are 5 questions where one assessor took one mark of whereas the other one didn't. Hypothetically if it was one assessor that took all those extra marks off my exam, it would mean one assessor gave me 95/100, whereas the other gave me 90/10. Is it too late to do anything and try get my study score changed now? I know there's no way to buy back my exam but surely I can somehow get this looked at? Should I go talk to my teacher from last year or is it too late?

This is very common - I had about 9 questions where it happened in one of my exams. There's a maximum allowable difference in the total mark assigned by the two assessors (which varies according to the exam) - as long as the two scores remain within this limit a third assessor won't get involved and there are no grounds for a remark. With that being the case though I'd say it's more likely one gave you a 92 and the other a 93 (or perhaps a 91 and a 94) as opposed to a 90 and 95.

Just one of those things unfortunately.

Damn that is rather annoying. Would you by any chance happen to know what the threshold is to get the 3rd assessor involved?

As Scooby has suggested this is extremely common. Even math subjects which appear to be black nd white will have students ending up with half marks due to one assessor giving the mark whilst the other one doesn't.

Also it's very unlikely one assessor gave you 90/100 and the other gave you 95/100 - with a discrepancy like that it would likely go to a 3rd assessor to mark you exam (without seeing the scores beforehand).

Not 100% on this. From memory the difference in marks required for a 3rd assessor changes each year and for each subject depending on the overall amount of agreement/disagreement between assessors on that particular exam.
