i have a bad feeling about my context piece. the whose reality? prompt was almost identical to our sac prompt, yet i didn't think to use the ideas from that sac which i did well on. my opinion piece was just like a slab of vomit!

I missed the background information altogether, as in I didn't even see it. I didn't write much about the issue itself and thought it was called Voxi Magazine...

I still felt like my piece was really high calibre. I'd hate to lose two marks for missing the tiny little background information box that wasn't even on the same page as the article... It doesn't seem right to punish for that, not really an assessment of the ability to analyse an article.

From what I've heard though, VCAA is pretty flexible when it comes to these things.

Surely it is difficult to learn about GDIB and not know what desensitisation is seeing as it is a major theme in the book? Anyway, I answered thematically, first discussing the exposure to the horrors of war, followed by the soldiers reverting to primal animal instinct, followed by class difference and discipline and finally civilians and their lack of desensitisation to some elements of war, profiteering, etc...Nothing completely stops the emotional and physical suffering, but this desensitisation to the horrors of war does stem the flow so to speak for the soldiers. Whereas some civilians do not suffer and benefit from the soldier's suffering.

Just wondering, you are clearly NOT THE ONLY ONE, but why would pplz think magazine=voxi, when the dude SIGNS OFF as voxi, that is, his name appears at the end of the article? lol

I thought it was an editorial in the magazine, and then they signed off with the magazine name as you often see in stuff like that. What'd they expect with a name like Voxi!? If it had been something like Jim then it would be much clearer.

Same topic...I started rambling a bit, but I'm hoping it wont hurt too much.
B1 - Rambled about Romulus a little (in order to reach my point), Gave examples of events in the memoir that would ordinarily be damaging to a child's well being
B2 - Explained why Raimond was not damaged by said events (his recognition of his father's love) and detailed the many positive lessons that he learned from his father (blah blah morality)
C - Used some quotes to illustrate that Raimond grew into a man of great spiritual well being
