I thought we could have a thread to share our achievements etc relating to music. For example if you recently completed a new AMEB grade etc :)

Piano, L.Mus.A. I hate AMEB grades .... the general knowledge bits are painful

Also Season of Excellence (that's what top acts is right?) but 2006.

And VCE music was my best subject. Which I'm extremely happy about :) I <3 music

I've done AMEB Grade 7 Flute, Grade 6 Oboe and Grade 4 Theory.
Grade 5 Theory is evil (A# minor :o), dunno how you guys could stand Grade 6.

i think i got about 76 too...

before that i'd always done really well (from grade 1 onwards i got 98, 100, 100, 96, 91, i think) but by the time i got to grade 6 i stopped caring. also, i'd been doing music theory without playing any instrument at all for a few years, and then i started learning guitar so i stopped doing theory. if that makes any sense.

theory's always been my strong point though. having perfect pitch kinda helps 8)

Wow, you theory freak :O

I've always sucked at theory. I haven't ever got anything higher than a credit. God how I hate theory!

I have perfect pitch too! When I did music I always felt like a cheater during melody transcription cos it was so easy for me :P

ha, same! my teacher used to always get me to write up the answer so he didn't have to bother himself. and he'd always play the melody 5 or 6 times and i'd be done by the second time. sometimes music at school could be very tedious...
