Other than the really obvious part they put in for connotations ('breeze' connotes weightlessness and tranquility without 'wads of bills') that most people did, barely anything in the language. It ended up being an 90% argument analysis. what did people say about the pictures? Mine were handshake=personal connection/understanding to customer knowing what they want, card machine= questioning reliability of new tech. Not great tbh. Anyone catch any good ones?

I said the "out of service" phrase on the EFTPOS machine metaphorically alluded to (I forgot the quote here) the older residents becoming out-of-place in society, or those residents who find cash seamless.

A bit of a stretch, but I mentioned that the use of asyndeton in the headline embodied the efficiency of electronic payment systems. Article was kinda bland imo :/

Anyone know to what extent I might lose marks for not completing 1/2 of argument analysis? I finished the other two essays, thought the first was really good, but wasn't able to complete LA. My first paragraph is pretty long for it though and has a bunch of comparison/analysis but only really managed to cover the first third of each piece...

I also stated the handshake thing and that it is a homely and personal vibe Haley is trying to create, for the machine thing I was soo stumped I just made up that the store is only interested in collecting your money, hence the receipts and when you want service they abandon you. Idk

I saw the eftpos with the out of service message as symbolising a flaw in Haileys argument, in which “what happens when eftpos isn’t working?” (which is a fair point imo)  and reinforces their argument that cashless spending is actually inconvenient.
The two images for the most part reflect the agenda of the authors.
