Here are the answers to core, matrices and graphs and relations. I've cross checked them with a bunch of friends, so we think it's 100%, pls let know if any wrong ones in it.

Core:
BBDDCDBBEAABEEDCDCACCECB

Matrices:
CDEEBAAE

Graphs and Relations:
BDEDBCEC

Hi,

For core 11, I got C, and have tested it with the regression equation, assuming the gradient value (b) as what it is being increased by. Can anyone explain why it is A.

Thanks

New to this so idk how the quote thing works. I used:
b = (r Sy)/(Sx)
b = (-0.770 x 1.12)/(1.56)
b = -0.5528 (A)

I wanted some help to confirm a few things, I got 37/40 in exam 1, Rank 5 and myself (Rank 4) both got the highest mark of 37. My SAC average is currently standing at 87% and our cohort is doing fairly well in SACS the highest is currently standing at 94%. Rank 1-3 in the exam all got between 33-35, does this mean that Rank 5 and myself are in a good position since we performed better than expected ?, and lets say I wanted to get a 45+ study score what score do I need to aim for even though I want a 60 hopefully ?.
Thanks in advance  ;D

Unfortunately, the ranking system will be working against you here. As your top-ranked students have underperformed on the exam, from VCAA's point of view your school assessments were too easy. In turn, your internal SAC scores will be scaled down. The higher ranks actually benefit from your exam score as rank 1's internal score is scaled using the highest external exam score (37/40) as you mentioned. Meanwhile, rank 5 like yourself will have your internal SAC scores scaled using the 5th highest external score (likely downwards). It's quite an abnormality for higher ranks to tank the exam like this.

In any case, your ability to get a 45 is highly dependent on how much your SACs scale by. You'd definitely want to get 100% on exam 2 to have a shot at a 45.

Our cohort isn't very strong honestly since not as many people actually do good in the SACs let's say 10/40 will get above 80 each SAC and actually have an average above 80. In this case what would happen in terms of my score and those above me.

I suspect there would be a scale-down of SAC scores across the cohort.

Hey!!
so I just wanna know how screwed I am aha, I got pre bad for exam 1 by looking at the answers that were posted 31/40 :( and I don't have that smart of a cohort, I think the average of the sacs are in the 50-60 range. I have an average of 79 of all my sacs, do I have any hope of getting 35+ ss?

The only info we are given is a transition matrix and that the lads will change their activity every 30 mins from 9-4, hence there will be 16 rotations, given that we are not told anything about the initial state matrix or the lads beginning location, we can make a 3X1 state matrix resembling percentages, where we can put 33.3333 in each of the elements, displaying an even distribution of the lads as they arrive and select their first rides = s1. note we are looking for teh end of the day = s16 We can use the equation sn+1=tXsn, orT to the power of15 X s1, hence givng us the end of day percentages, which gives us 14% for s, hence the answer is a

I'd just like to point out that if you're not rank 1 but full marked the exam, you can still get 50. Say for example you're ranked 3 and the people above you got 23/40 and 33/40. If two people a lower rank than you full marked the exam as well as you, the top 3 people in your cohort will have their SACs scale to 100. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Which topics that were not in Exam 1 do you guys think will come up in Exam 2 ?, I know for a fact there will be z-scores and residuals, Revenue (FYI want to know for core, matrices and graphs and relations modules)

Don't know about graphs and relations but this is what my teacher sent:

STATISTICS
Segmented bar chart/two way table and relationship between two variables
Boxplot (including testing for outliers)
Standard normal (?)
Interpreting r/r2
Correlation and causation
Residuals/residual plot
Time series
De-seasonalisation

RECURSION
Perpetuities
A bit of everything seems to have been covered so more of the same

NETWORKS
Planar graphs/Euler’s rule
Walks
Shortest path (Dijkstra’s)
Maximum flow
Allocations (Hungarian Algorithm)
Crashing

MATRICES
Recurrence which includes a regular increase or decrease (i.e. Sn+1=TSn+B)
Going backwards (e.g. finding S1 given S2 using T-1)
Basic things – inverse, transpose, diagonal, identity

Agreed. I was rank 6 in my cohort and managed it. While it is rare for top people to do bad and lower ranks to smash it, it does happen. In very competitive cohorts top 5-15 ranked students actually have a shot at 50.
