yeah i stated points 2,3,4 in my answer. I know of people who left the 3 mark translation question completely blank

Whattttt?
But it was quite simple.
I actually wrote an essay for that question, not even kidding.
I love it when they finish a question and you have the rest of the page to improvise with!
I repeated myself 200 times.

I said, for the electrophoresis one, that the electrodes were connected backward. XD

Lol, running out of time, I put 'cloning'.  Didn't it even say that in the information given to you prior?
Amazing response.  Yeah, I can expect an A this time around :(

I was under the impression that it had moved forward though.
If the electrodes were connected at the wrong terminals, that wouldn't have happened, it would have fallen off the gel or it would have gone backwards.
Instead it just barely moved?

Wait, were you being sarcastic? Cloning is a correct answer =\ Cloning doesn't only refer to the large-scale acts of cloning sheep etc. Simply copying DNA is also known as cloning.

EDIT: Oh right you weren't. I getcha D:

Well the definition of cloning is the process of making identical copies of a gene, cell or organism.
And it was a gene?

i said that the DNA was put in the wells near the positive terminal... as DNA is negative it will move toward the positive terminal which meant that it moved backwards..

I think its cloning because the term replication should be pretty general knowledge for anyone doing bio in my opinion.

No, but reading what someone else had said I was under the impression that I hadn't read the question correctly and they had already mentioned that earlier and they were asking for ANOTHER NAME for it.
Time pressure was on for that question.  After hominid evolution questions they shouldn't throw stuff about probes and microarrays near you.

Cloning copies a whole genome ;).

DNA replication copies a chromosome though...
Hmmm...

But the definition in Nature of Biology says it can be for copying a gene.
And NoB is definition is...well...only second to the God of definitions provided in a VCAA assessment report.
