waht did people write about the reason for apoptosis in the first question. that was pretty lame. i was like ugh. some cells cannot go through mitosis to stop webbing and stuff.
Error in DNA duplication?

im not sure. i wrote a little paragraph for that. worth only 1 mark. i also said somethign to do with replication. i said that the cells we were not ready to go through mitosis and so had to go through programmed cell death

but errors in dna rep can be corrected by proof reading enzymes so i didnt write that

What did you guys write about humans would stop being affected by natural selection due to manipulation?

I said true but we will still evolve as there is still selection pressures (articificial) however natural environment almost can't cause humans to evolve?

yeh i wrote that we woudlnt evolve becuz of no naturual selection. i think that was just an opinion question . like u just had to make up something good. dont think theres a "correct" answer for that.

I said N, because humans can't control all aspects of their environment, such as sudden and mass change in climate.
I'm a firm believer that human influence can't stop climate change.

Totally with you. It was very difficult, and much too long. I don't trust people who say they found it easy. I see far too many people who say something is 'easy' and then get crap marks like C+.

Hopefully (LOL) the A+ mark will break the 70% mark. I mean I think 90% is one of the highest guys

But it said influence by "natural" selection so it has to be environmentally is it?

I said:
Although we can develop vaccines etc. people are still firstly affected, and these individuals who die have been selected against. Over a VERY long time we will see physical changes/evolution etc..

You could say both I'm assuming, with justification.

its good in a way though cuz it takes out the smart ones way out. like u need to be a pro to get like 70+ on that.

what did u guys write for the skull set. i wrote skull set 2 was erectus becuz of the brain size and the chin in the homo sapiens.

I agree, I saw it as a question where you could decide as long as your answer was justified.

What the hell is up with this exam. You can seriously write an essay on a question like that. It's quite debatable, so I assume as long as you justify your point of view with biological/evolutionary concepts, you'll be fine. However, the view commonly held by textbooks if I recall correctly is that we're no longer subject to natural selection.
