This exam was just really really different then what was expected.

y.

The fact that the first question was "Describe Binary Fission".
I knew something was going down.
Sure enough, everything that has been stuck to my shower screen for the last few weeks was irrelevant.
Just the way questions are asked, the types of questions asked. Noticed there wasn't much inheritance and pedigrees?

soo what is everyones verdict on a score out of 75 we would have to get to get and A or an A+? last year you had to get a 57/75 to get an A+ it says on the VCAA web site.... would this be right? it seems like alot of marks to beable to lose...but im assuming todays exams we could have lost even more marks and still get an A+! whats everyones opinion...

I feel this will be less than 57 for an A+ cutoff. Probably a high 40s to low 50s. Poorly-written exam, IMO.

what sucks though is tht next yr it will b that little bit easier cuz the VCAA now know not to be so retarded.

You would think that they might learn from their mistakes, but I wouldn't count on it.
I still expect some form of storm to come and knock me over during the Chem Unit 4 exam after Unit 3.

oh sucks to be in yr 12. yeh i heard unit 3 chem was hardest exam ever.

well to all the yr 11. WOHOOO BABY. the exam is done :D.

i gotta feeling - black eyed peas. "tonights gonna be a good night"

It was :(
And I was one mark off an A.
Most disappointing thing of my life.
When I think about the stupid mistake I made to lose that mark :(

Oh well.  I've tried so hard studying for it this time around.  Well I did last time too.  But hopefully I can get an A+ this time, and get an alright score after scaling to get me into Media Com next year!  97.60 ENTER...

oo 97 enter. nice ..good luck (Y)

For that qn where they had a circle diagram and a photo of one of the stages of mitosis, and we had to say where the stage was happening, what was it?
I wrote that it was anaphase, and I can't remember which letter from the circle I picked :(

I think qn 1 or 2 ?

oh yeh that was question 2. im pretty sure it was anaphase because the chromosomes were visible and no other option made sense. it had to be during the mitosis cycle. and there was only 1 of them during mitosis

I know!  I relied on it!  I love stating information that proves a mode of inheritance, it's so hard to do badly on a question like that.
I was shocked that it was missing from Section B.

For the drawing of plasmid, do you just do circle or double circle? I didn't want to get into too much detail because I remember a VCAA question asking the shape of plasmid and the answer was circular so I expected that..
