Core question 8
« on: November 02, 2009, 05:42:34 pm »
Everyone seemed to get E for this question, but I got C.

Could it be that because only one third of animals have a high exposure to danger, that u times one third by 86 to get 28?
I'm probably wrong but just want it to be cleared up.
Thanx  :)

I think they are only asking for the animals whose exposure to danger was high. Not as a total.

Yeah probably it just seems a bit ambiguous

I put C

We don't know that the number of animals for each of low, medium and high exposure to danger is equal, so we can't compare them that way. There could be 100 for low, 100 for medium and 20000 for high, for all we know.  :-\

...don't think too deep into a question. It's sort of good that you do but not in this case. It's immediately clear that the answer is E....doesn't make it ambigious, just common sense that a higher % of the bar is coloured as below average

the percentage of animals whose exposure to danger is high AND (key word being "and") whose chance of attack is below average is closest to 28%. thus the answer being C. you must consider there are two other loads of information. the AND gives this away. I am fairly confident with this, but chances are they will just give both correct anyway. way tooooo ambiguous
