Hi there
I'm Nushrat, and I've just wrapped up my 4th year of studying Medicine at Monash University (MD). I've been involved in both group and private tutoring for the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) yearly since graduating from The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School in 2015 with an ATAR of 99.35 and UMAT score in the 97th percentile, gaining direct entry into the course.
I'll be offering exclusively one-on-one tutoring sessions this year, as I believe that they are perhaps more effective in identifying both strengths and weaknesses within individual students and therefore allow for a more targeted approach in improving interview skills. Essentially, the sessions involve going through multiple stations as one would in the real MMI; I offer both reading time (2 minutes) and 8 minutes of interviewing in order to imitate an actual active station, after which I'll provide students with detailed feedback. This feedback is all written out on a word document with copies of the stations & and a brainstorm of their possible solutions, which students receive a copy of after each session.
In regards to the number of sessions involved - it really differs from student to student. On average, I recommend around 2-3 2-hourly sessions, after which I think students are well equipped to continue practising until interview day on their own. We can have fewer/more however depending on your choice, as I'm pretty flexible in accomodating that. The sessions are priced at $50/hour.
Location wise, I live in Keysborough and offer tutoring mostly at home. However, I'm also happy to meet in Clayton (e.g. university libraries/Monash Public Library) for those around the area. Unfortunately, I'm only really available until December 3 this year as I'll be overseas until January 5 - which, to my knowledge, marks the beginning of interviews for 2020 applicants. I'm aware that VCE results and therefore interview offers aren't released until mid-December, so I understand if anyone's hesitant to start interview prep right away. Just thought I'd put the offer up anyway for those wanting to get a bit of a head start.
If you're interested, don't hesitate to email me at
[email protected]. My number is 0468599816, so if you prefer text, that's fine for me too. I'm also happy to discuss any general advice I have regarding the interviews for those who have questions.
Cheers, and all the best for the upcoming interview season!
