Accounting via Distance Ed because of teacher?

Hey guys,

I just thought of this recently, but would it be beneficial for me to try to enrol in Distance Ed if my teacher is slightly incompetent? I'm not sure if Distance Ed would just make things worse since I've heard some people say they provide minimal support. But basically, our school only has 1 accounting class and 1 accounting teacher; he is nice and seems experienced, however, our classes are very slow and mainly consist of us copying down whatever he writes on the board. :( He has also admitted that he is quite confused about certain concepts in the new study design and said that his 3/4s were his guinea pigs this year. :-\ The 1/2 SACs and exams this year were all very similar to ones from previous years (which he always gives to us for practice), so it's all very predictable. I tried asking him how our 3/4 SACs tend to scale, but he went off on a tangent and didn't give me an answer... I suspect they are a lot easier than ones from other schools.

So, would it be a dumb idea to consider enrolling for accounting via Distance Ed? Would my school let me if the existing class doesn't clash with anything?

You probably should negotiate that with your school. But distance education is only fine if you're confident enough to teach yourself.

Yeah, now I'm honestly not sure anymore if I want to investigate distance ed since it's a big risk to take. I might land myself in a stickier situation  :( I don't think the school understands/cares about the state of our accounting classes because it seems like we put a lot of our resources to the science department. But thanks for your input anyway :)
