VCAA
« on: November 02, 2009, 09:21:15 pm »
ive been reading the biology threads for over two hours now and all i can say is that if VCAA was a person i would have strangled it by now..
how can they have so many ambiguous questions on the same exam, if people who got 45+ in previous years cant agree on the answers exactly how is the majority of the 09 students supposed to get the same answers..

i cant wait for the examiners report when they accept 2 or 3 answers for every question because of this rediculous ambiguity...i came out of the exam feeling fairly good..i had answered everything (bullshitted a fair few parts but wrote a half page essay on each so hopefully i answered some part of the question) now everyone ive talked to is in disagreement about the answers..seriously can not wait for the 14th of december

unlucky.. well i think i got 22-23 on the MC depending on what the actual answers end up being and anywhere between 35-45 in the SA depending on how well the examiners believe my answers are
so anything from mid-high 50's to low 60's is possible
They don't take bullshit unfortunately :(.

Did they do any exceptions in chem? Apparantly that was screwed up? Or was it just hard?

Chem was just long.
Difference between hard and long.
Like, it was 10 questions in section B, all of which required serious analytical thought.

SACs depend on your cohort, because sometimes I was getting 75% in my SACs, but everyone else was getting 68% or something.  So what might sound bad really isn't.  I had one SAC below average, and the rest above average, but for some of them - such as immunity and disease, I was 15% above average.
I got 70/75 on Exam 1 and 68/75 on Exam 2.
