Hypothetical scenario:
complete 3/4 in 2019 - ss 27
redo it 2020 - ss 20
What study score stands? The Latest one or the highest one?

Nope! But there is no point in doing a 3/4 if you know for sure you will get a lower score (however this scenario is extremely unlikely), or if you aren't willing to put in the effort to get a higher score since they take the high-standing one anyway. In your case, since the school won't let you take only 4 subjects, you can redo bio and not put in any effort as you know they will take your higher score towards your ATAR anyways. But I would strongly consider picking up another subject, at school or distance ed, as this will give you a sixth subject to count towards your ATAR and will boost your aggregate. Good luck!

EDIT; have a read of this

I can see some arguments for a "negative' impact if you were to prioritise this over other subjects in order to get a better score here thus dragging down your other subjects scores.

Even if you were to score higher this overall negative impact could still be true.

In addition to this re-doing, a subject is definitely not that uncommon I have seen students even with low 40s in subjects redoing it with mixed results (some staying with similar scores others going to high 40s). One of the most common reasons is usually pride. Usually, if they bombed the exam or know that they definitely can do better.

my coordinator told me I wasnt allowed to drop to four subjects this year (Eng, Further, Psych & Legal) so my options are staying in HHD or redoing bio

If you realllly dislike HHD, then I reckon re-doing bio would be a better option,

You would already be familiar with the terminology/theory and you would also have a better advantage of knowing what your school puts on their SAC's. I think you would just need to focus on doing more exam-style questions and being able to better express your knowledge in SAC's/ other assessments.

Just my thought's, what are you more inclined to do right now, stay with health or redo bio?
