im a year 12 VCE student its only march and so far ive:

been absent for 10 days (I have an illness but I only had a medical certificate for 4 of the days)

BUSINESS: had 2 business sacs so far and failed both, a third sac is coming up

PSYCHOLOGY: was exempt from the first sac for psychology after I left early bc I started puking, missed second sac for psychology, I dont know if there's more sacs coming up so im guessing I failed unit 3 for this subject

ENGLISH: I think im doing well in English, there's a creative assessment next week that im ready for and I did a language analysis assessment last week which Im pretty sure I did well in, the results never came in yet

HEALTH & HUMAN DEV: had two sacs so far for HHD in unit 3 and I also failed both.. I dont think there's any more for this unit

BIOLOGY: my first bio sac is coming up in 2 weeks, im preparing really hard for it.

starting from now, since my illness is under control, I promised myself to never be absent and I want to work hard and get good grades, but for subjects like psychology, business and hhd, am I screwed? since I failed 2/3 sacs of business and ALL sacs for psych and hhd? can I redeem myself in the internal and external exams? if I do amazingly well in the exams and unit 4, do you think I can get a 90+ atar? I want to do better but I feel like I doomed myself. is it not possible anymore? thoughts?

Anyone can do well. Believe you can, and you're halfway there. It's not too late. School has barely started - you have so many more SACs to go where you have the potential to improve and learn from your mistakes. So no, you aren't screwed. Especially since for majority of subjects, exams are a larger determiner for your study scores than SACs, meaning you can definitely ace the exams and do well. This isn't to mean SACs should be disregarded, so I recommend that you focus on improving from now on and try your best - anything is possible, but only if you start as soon as possible (which would be now). Having a couple of bludge SACs is okay, but you should work towards getting better at the content (practice questions!). If you find that your health is impacting your VCE in a major way, you should apply for SEAS if you haven't already.

I understand the position you are in right now, and that you may feel that you're in the dumps. Drawing from a famous quote, the past can be difficult to come to terms with, but it's important to learn from it instead of overthinking about what could have happened. You may not be able to change your past, but you can change your future. Good luck with your VCE journey!
