Hey mcg0013,

Welcome to the ATAR Notes forum! 8)

What year are you in? If you are doing 1/2, you should be able to switch to HHD with permission from your school. It is likely that if you are able to switch, your school will let you start the subject at Unit 2. If you are doing 3/4, I think it's a bit too late to switch seeing as the date to withdraw and enrol was the 27th of April according to this document from VCAA. However, the administrative dates are currently being updated at the moment so you may wish to contact your school as they might be able to confirm whether you can switch to HHD.

It might be helpful to ask yourself why it is that you want to switch subjects. It's important to make an informed decision.

HHD is a great subject IMO (but I am biased!). You get to learn about Australia's healthcare system and gain a snapshot into the health of Australians (and global health during Unit 4). If you're interested in learning about health and/or studying health sciences, public health and health promotion, nursing and midwifery or medicine, this could be the subject for you! A synopsis of the subject can be found in the study design.

Hope this helps! :)
