hi! I'm currently in yr 10 and im doing 1/2 physics this year. I want to do biology because I am interested in working in the medical field in the future.
I'm not sure whether I should jump straight into 3/4 bio next year or whether I should do 1/2 bio in yr 11 and do the 3/4 in yr 12 (apparently bio is hard to do in yr 12? can someone confirm that for me pls).
my plan is do to 3/4 physics next year, depending on how I do in my next test because for my first test I got 100% and I recently did my second test and im pretty sure I failed...
depending on what I hear about bio and physics, ill figure out if I am doing both or just one bc I also don't really mind jumping into 3/4 accounting next year without the 1/2.
thanks for reading!
Hi! I'm in Year 11 studying 1/2 Biology, however my school teaches us 3/4 content as well (so basically 3/4 content two years in a row.) With the help of materials such as Edrolo, your textbooks, Khan Academy etc to catch up on some basics covered in 1/2, I think you could totally do 3/4 Biology next year. The 'hardness' of it all is really subjective– for me, the first few concepts aren't that difficult to understand. By the time you reach more complex topics or things that you'd struggle with, you'll have the experience to be able to ask questions and find your best way of learning. I think doing 3/4 Bio next year would be a great opportunity for you. If you're planning to also study 3/4 Physics next year, I'm a tiny bit worried it'd be a bit much for your workload, but of course this depends on you and your interests and dedication. I don't study Physics so I won't be able to help you much with that.
The teachers and coordinators at your school also have invaluable advice regarding your subject decisions, maybe reach out to one of the Bio teachers and ask them about the workload and the subject.
Again, it's completely up to you, but I hope my advice helped a little bit (:
