Cohort Performance

This all relates to Biology at my school:
Basically, it is true that if the cohort performs poorly, my SS will get pulled down?
The SACS at my school are... strange to say the least. I think I'm around 4th in ranking. A little disheartening but I'm still confident in a 90%+ on the exam. If I do perform well on the exam, can I still attain a 40-45 SS? Thank you!

It really depends on how strong that rank 4 is. If you have 4 students in your cohort you think are comfortable getting 40+ scores you shouldnt be disadvantaged by a weak cohort. If no one but yourself is likely to score an A+ on the exam your rank will bring your score down.
