JMSS Questions

There's currently a few JMSS entry threads, but I didn't really want the questions to get lost amongst all the excitement, so I decided to make this. If you have any questions ask them here, and hopefully someone will answer but don't blame me if no one does. To start off, I was curious as to what content was on the methods test. Is it methods content? or is it just year 10 math?

Thanks in advance!

You should just give it a shot, if the school thinks you’re ready they’ll let you pursue it, but if they don’t then it just means that you need to prepare a little more. There’s no real loss in trying out (unless there’s a bill for the exam)

Hi, Supp

As per my understanding. They allow you to take chemistry 1/2, physics 1/2, biology 1/2, and other VCE subjects.

Here is the link for JMSS's curriculum: https://jmss.vic.edu.au/learning/curriculum/#:~:text=In%20Year%2010%20all%20students,)%2C%20Geoscience%20and%20Bioinformatics%3B%20Issues

Scroll lower and you will be able to see the subjects.

Sincerely, MAN0033

You don’t actually do chem and phys 1+2 until semester 2 bcoz they think it’s important to know some of the yr 10 curriculum. They don’t do bio 1+2 in yr 10 bcoz you don’t need to do them to do 3+4 as the units are pretty unrelated. I asked this in my interview. It’s just methods that you can start right away.
