[VCE] Predict Your Study Scores/ATAR, Compare on Results Day!
« on: November 23, 2020, 10:56:37 am »

It's ATAR Notes tradition! ;D

Now that the end of exams for 2020 is in sight, you might start to reflect over the next little period. The next month or two can feel like a pretty long wait, so why not fill the time a little by predicting your results for each subject, and then for the ATAR overall? When the time comes in December, you can then compare your estimations to the real thing. :) Use this thread to come back and revise your predictions if they change over the next few weeks!

Have at it below. :)

My predictions:
(Raw scores all)
[Did HHD last year, got 31]
English: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
Revs: 32, exam C+ [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 32-40]
Methods: 27, exam 1 C, exam 2 C [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 27-32]
Texts: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
ATAR: I dreamed I got 79.85, let's predict that.
The course I want requires probably at least 91 ATAR... :'(

Methods: 48 if I were to be really really optimistic (4 marks lost best case scenario assuming I did not lose any method marks and the examiners show mercy ::)). If I were to be a bit more realistic though, it would be a 45, which I am still going to be very happy with.

Overall, I have learnt so much from taking this course in year 11 and I can't wait to see how well this ages. I'm just hoping that this will be in my top 4 and my 80+ practice exams will pay off.

Psych: 35-37ss

Honestly, the exam was just horrible and the most difficult one I have ever completed.
Our cohort was quite strong, so hopefully, SACs scale up this year :)
2019: 1/2 Psych

2020: English, Bio, Chem, Psych, HHD, Methods

2021: bye bye psych :D

Further - 44
- I know I dropped at least 1 mark off on Exam 2 but I would not be surprised if I dropped more
Methods - 38
- I know I lost at least 3 marks on exam 1 and at least 5 on exam 2 but most likely more but I am realistically looking at a 33-34/40 for Exam 1 and 68-70/80 for Exam 2

I am probably underpredicting my scores slightly (I don't want to be disappointed haha). I put in so much effort for both of these subjects (40+ exams for each) and had very good SAC ranks (Top 5). However, none of the exams went how I would have wanted them to go but I think I am being pessimistic haha.

trying not to underpredict scores :P

Methods: <25 lmao cannot go to uni

This is me being realistic- I HATE being crushed. Beginning of the year me would scoff at these scores, but post chemistry exam/VCE me realises they are just numbers. and I (and you) are worth SO much more than any number- please remember that guys 💜

Predicted ATAR: 92.90

Being realistic having stuffed up quite a few of my exams. Originally was aiming for a 98+ but obviously that isn't possible now.
