Thats the best advice I've ever heard! Now I have an excuse for using up all our internet watching J-Dramas and Anime! Its so addictive, I swear, I can never just stop at one episode! Except our internet is now so slow that it takes about an hour to load one 15 minute video...
I've been trying to learn vocab from reading Death Note and the first Harry Potter book in Japanese... but I've just been writing words down, and um... forgetting to look at them again. I think Anki looks much more helpful!

Anki is awessssome. If you end up using it remember to dl the Japanese plugin! It automatically generates readings for you, which is nice. Also gives you Kanji stats and stuff.

also note: don't be too ambitious with the "new cards per day setting". At first it may seem the default 20 new cards per day is pretty easy, but that's because you haven't gone through that many cards to review yet. If you increase it too much the number of cards to review per day will eventually jump well past 100 easily, which becomes pretty depressing.

Just depends on your amount of free time ^^; Personally I've dropped it down to 10 new cards because I also do Korean and Chinese decks, but I would think that it would be best to spend as much time reading as possible, compared to Anki reps =]

Ha ha ha what free time? Personally I find reading manga more fun than playing with flashcards... But I can never remember the vocab!

This is a bit random, but does anyone know how to say 'or' with two verbs? Like 'increase or decrease'. I looked up how to say 'or' and it said use the partice ka, but that's with nouns, isn't it?
