Thanks heaps! =)

Do most people find what they are given is usually enough to score high marks?
Raw Scores:
Psychology 50 | Mathematical Methods 49 | Further Mathematics 49 | Accounting 49 | Chemistry 44 | English 43

I found it really easy to do well in calculus 2 with just the lecture notes, the problem booklet and the tutorials. You also have sit a test and hand in 3 assignments with calc 2.

In linear algebra you have the lecture notes, problem booklets, tutorial sheets, computer lab handouts, 10 assignments and 2 MATLAB tests.

Going by the handbook in calculus 1 you also have 10 assignments to complete (an assignment will usually have around 3 questions to complete)

She can do it as well, I think.  lol.  Guess she should put:

"How to become an astrophysicist, then what's actuarial maths, then how to survive first year uni maths"

I wonder if it will fit.  :P  lol

To be more off the point.

I am currently wandering around venice (1481) with Leonardo da Vinci. Well not really of course, in assassin's creed 2.

Just imagine if you could go back in time and see some historical figures in their prime with their field of interest.

If I want to major in Maths at Melb Uni, do I go about it by undertaking a Science degree with a major in Maths and Statistics?

Yes.

Now because you haven't done specialist maths in VCE you will need to do calculus 1 (basically the important parts of specialist maths taught in 12 weeks), then you will need to do linear algebra and calculus 2. Since you got great marks for maths methods you could ask if you can do calculus 2 and linear algebra at the same time in semester 2.

You could probably teach yourself everything in calculus 1 before uni starts. I have also included a calculus 1 exam.

If you would like to have more careers open to you, you could do a bachelor of commerce and a diploma of maths (basically a major in maths). This will probably extend your degree by an extra half year, but you will have more career options open to you.

Are there worked solutions for the exam you attached?

I know someone who is an astrophysicist (very smart man), dont be fooled, the market for work isnt very huge. He drives a taxi (no he's not indian if thats what you were going to say, he's english) and lives out in the country. He says theres only a handful of job openings every year and sometimes thats only when someone quits or dies.

No.

But I'm sure if you create a new topic asking for help with particular questions there will be someone who can give a solution.

Before tackling this exam myself I need to refresh my memory on this stuff. Lol!

Yeah, that's the thing exactly. A year ago I could have achieved >90% on this with an hour to spare. When I looked at it yesterday I realised that I had forgotten that .

Lot's of remembering to do >_<

Me not doing any calculus in ages has made really rusty in calculus.

I can remember when I was on BoS (I think I joined BoS when I got my ENTER, I first came across BoS when I was googling study methods for English) I came across this (http://community.boredofstudies.org/416/mathematical-methods/186323/50-mathematical-methods.html).

I was actually recommended VN from a BoS user, since, VN is for Victorian students. I want to know how many BoS users have created accounts on VN. I know one of my friends off BoS has recently joined VN (addikaye... - I think that's his profile name).

Btw: I'm Joel8945 on BoS.
