Can anyone express how tough it is, honestly, to maintain a 75% average in UOM for Biomedicine.
If you maintain a 75% average, is it guaranteed a place in a Graduate professional entry degree?
How many hours to put in, etc.

If you get an ENTER of 99.90 and maintain a 75% average in Biomed, you will get a place in a Graduate degree (Medicine/Dentistry/Physio), though you still need to go through an interview.

If you don't get an ENTER of 99.90, then you will need to go through the GAMSAT and interview to be selected for the Graduate degree (Also a high GPA like 75%+).

75% is not hard to get, you just have to be passionate about what you do and be willing to put in the effort to get there...

I don't think it's exclusively Melbourne B.Biomedicine students for those 300 places. You would be competing with science students from various universities, other health sciences graduates who want to do medicine, possibly people who have done a degree in something like arts/law/commerce and had a change of heart down the track (returning to uni for a bit to meet prerequisites and what not) ... etc.

To be exact, there are 330 places, and about 80 international full fee places I think. So that leaves about 250 places for Biomed/Science/Other degrees/People from other states, to fight over

Also, some students have achieved an ENTER of over 99.90 and have gotten a 75% average. They get a guaranteed spot so thats less than 250 spots ZOMG

ZOMG! + people who didnt get 99.00 or greater, have to do GAMSAT !
This design is very hard, it appears too me.

Australian or international fee place:
Achieve an ENTER (or equivalent) of 99.0 in studies undertaken in Australia until 2010

Commence an undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne and complete the undergraduate course with a H2A (75%) weighted average.

Subject to satisfactory performance at an interview to demonstrate adequate communications skills.  Successful applicants will not be required to complete the Graduate Australian Medical School Admission Test (GAMSAT) for entry.  Prerequisite subjects must be completed.

Note that guaranteed fee places will be limited by the number of fee places available in the course in the year of entry.

But wouldn't there be so many people with 99+? Also, that means you are always insecure of your guarantee for the whole 3 years!!
