People deleting threads...

Recently some people, won't name names have been deleting threads for no reason simply because people disagree with their contention.

Furthermore, they have also "closed" threads once their answer has been given.

IMO i think this defeats the whole purpose of a FORUM- aka a place of discussion.

It may be because they are NEW members, and this forum functions differently to others, so they still don't know the way the site works yet.

But yeah it's just annoying, and I had to blow off some steam....because this particular thread had really good discussion and points being discussed.

And we do not belong to a society where discussion is muted simply because on disagrees.

Don't worry, admin has the power to restore threads through the ACP and for that particular thread, I'm sure he will restore it.  :)

Oh! So that's possible, lol. I didn't know ><

But because I was so into the debate going on, it was a nice topic, and when I clicked "next" it said "out of limits/ does not exist"

FAIL.

Yes, I'm quite sure it's possible.  I'm sure because I was an admin for two forums - one powered by Invisionfree and the other iPBFree and they had that ability so I don't see why SMF wouldn't.  :)

I agree.  It was a nice topic and it was getting quite epic.  :)

OMG nooo........NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I was in the middle of writing an epic post for that thread.....then i click post.... *doesnt work*.....uh...mmm..uh....*click post again*.....*refresh*...page isnt there anymore?

I don't know who started the thread but dude your pathetic.

Gonna put my post down there in-case the thread is restored so i can post it later.
The thread is right, there are a lot of easier jobs.

I go to a methods tutor for example - It's his only job, to just tutor all day but out of it he does make a killing. He see's at least 2 classes a day, with around 5 students in each, 50 bucks each student.

So, 2(classes)*5(students)*7(days)*50 = a shitload (i was never good at math i guess that's why i need him but its roughly bare minimum $3500 a week).

Now, some people, if they're good enough at math, could do that straight out of VCE.  I mean sure it'd be boring and maybe un-fulfilling but you'd make a killing.

He lives in a very nice house (which im sure ive paid a decent chunk off for him), yes he is asian and his son and daughter are both doctors. By almost all measures he is very successful.

(on a side note it is kind of akward being the only white guy ive ever seen there)

Yeah.  Maybe we could impose a restriction.  Like, you can't delete a thread after if it has more than a certain number of replies.

I think there is, I'm not sure because I can't delete my question thread but I can delete some of my old threads with like 3 pages.

I think it was about why people work hard in VCE. I don't think I read the last posts, lol.

I was about to say "med students, don't become inspired through scrubs, watch Patch Adams (the real Patch Adams was a born doctor).

Ken was the topic starter but I can't remember the exact topic title.  It was the topic you last karma'ed me.

EDIT: You talked about lawyers.
