Why do people do more than 6 subjects?

I wanna know other people's reasons  ;D.

I do it because I want to learn Chinese really well to the extent that I can communicate without problems, but I'm not terribly great at it. So I take a 7th subject to subject to patch up for Chinese.

Well, I'm doing 6 subjects next year (did multimedia this year) to make up for doing two vet subjects, which are fairly easy.

2009-2010: VET Multimedia | Methods CAS | English | Legal Sudies | National Politics | Accounting | VET IT

2011-2013: BBIS at Monash - IBL Stream

Semester 1: Principles of Accounting & Finance | Computer Programming | Business Information Analysis | Intro. to Business Information Systems

As for 6 subjects the answer is obvious, you can add an extra few points to your aggregate. You also get to experience the real game of VCE (oh how I wished that I did biology 3/4 in year 11).

As for 7 subjects, well you have a subject to be there if you stuff up the other. Anymore (not including UMEP) really wouldn't make sense.
2008: Finished VCE

2012 - 2014: Master of Science (Applied Mathematics/Mathematical Physics)

Semester 1:[/b] Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Risk Analysis, Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering

Semester 2:[/b] Earth Processes for Engineering, Engineering Materials, Structural Theory and Design, Systems Modelling and Design

I genuinely want to study all of my subjects.  If I could (ie. if it were feasible), I would also have done National Politics, Revs, Renaissance and Physics.  :p

To be honest I probably would have to :)
Only problem is my school really only lets students complete one 3/4 in year 11. \

Yeah same, and our school only recommends us to do 5 subjects in year 12.

But i think you could probably do 6 max if you really wanted to. So 7 total, which means increased enter :)

I genuinely want to study all of my subjects.
This. Also so I'd have backup subjects.

year 11 I did 2 like most people and 5 in year 12 like most people... it's just because I did one in year 10

Because I could do Chinese SL in Year 10!  So I grabbed that opportunity.  I came from Singapore when I was 14, so I wanted to do Chinese before my chinese skills started taking a serious downward slide into nothingness (like it has now).  So I tried to do Chinese as soon as possible.

ENTER 99.95
2008 50 English   49 Chemistry   43 Specialist   45 History:Revs
2007 46 Biology   42 Methods
2006 45 Chinese SL

I'm doing UMEP physics (if I get in, which I should...) because I love physics and I don't feel challenged - VCE's more about studying than learning. Plus, there's also the whole need to bump English Language out of my ENTER if I can...
