97.65 - Tutoring Accounting, Economics, Further - S/E Suburbs
« on: December 18, 2009, 08:39:18 pm »
Hey Everyone

I graduated in 2009 with an ENTER of 97.65 and I'm looking to offer some tuition for the subjects I enjoyed and excelled at this year. I am currently tutoring multiple students found through VCEnotes and work for a private tutoring college, therefore weekend tutoring is preferable at State Library.

Accounting

I achieved a raw score of 45 using the Cambridge textbook with three A+'s. I was 2nd in my school for Unit 3 and 1st for Unit 4, only losing one mark in all SAC's. My teacher is the TSFX speaker for Accounting. VCE Accounting is all theory based and once the course is learnt it is all just a matter of repetition to ensure that all theory and practical answers can be modified correctly to suit the question posed. I did over 30 practice exams and have learnt the coursework thoroughly, therefore I am extremely confident in tutoring this subject.

Economics

I achieved a raw score of 46 in Economics and our class did not use a textbook. My teacher was the VCAA Economics curriculum writer and the TSFX speaker, therefore I received genuine insight into the course material. A major part of Unit 3/4 Economics requires students to apply their knowledge of variable economic circumstances and the impact that these circumstances may have on Government objectives, and this is what many students have the most difficulty with. I can provide students with the knowledge that is required to answer the question and provide how to present that information to get the full marks :)

Further Maths

The Modules I did in Further were

- Number Patterns
- Geo and Trig
- Matricies

Unfortunately, my school put the top 20 Further students in on 99% SAC marks, therefore my exam mark was poorly scaled and I only achieved a 45 raw.

However, checking the iTute answers, I achieved 40/40 for the first exam and 58/60 for the second. I believe Further requires the least amount of effort to do well for VCE, a simple knowledge of each topic and repetition will allow the students to excel in the exam. However, each topic should be revised and summarised to achieve a "high" exam mark. For me, this was achieved by completing 30 practise exams over the course of the year (since learning the course does not take long) and revisiting questions that were wrong (a simple but effective technique for FM).

I live in Scoresby and am available to meet at a mutual place, preferably Glen Waverley Library or Monash Uni. My rate starts at $20 per hour for a single student depending on how many hours are wanted per session, group discounts are avaliable.

Be sure to PM me if you have any questions, and enjoy Year 12!

Yeah I could come down to Rowville, would Stud Park library suit? I find that a learning environment is better for study then a home relaxation environment anyway.

Well after a successful year with a multitude of students, I've been receiving a few PM's on holiday classes to get ahead in 2011.

PM me if you'd like to discuss, always happy to negotiate and help. :D
