Could somebody please give me some feedback on these two universities, I cannot decide what to preference first. I will hopefully be doing some sort of teaching course, but I am stuck on which Uni would be better for this.

Thanks.

I've heard ACU is better for teaching than RMIT, but I'm not 100%.

So which uni overall is the best? I know ACU has higher enter scores for most of their courses, but does that necessarily make it better?

A course that requires a higher ENTER does not mean that it is better.  A higher ENTER only reflects on the popularity of the course.  For example, law degrees have high ENTERs, simply because there are many people applying for them and the respective unis can only offer a certain amount of places.  As a result because demand is higher than the supply, the ENTER will be high.

For example, I remember a law degree at Victoria Uni required a 98 ENTER.  But does that mean that it is a "better" course than a law degree at Monash?

IT all depends on what you are wanting to studying. Nursing and Teaching are ACU's specialities and it has the best reputation in the country for those two courses amongst the professional sector. If you're wanting to study like, journalism... then RMIT is most certainly the way to go. Give ACU a call and ask about your course and the respective course in RMIT. One of the best things about their information sessions is that it's not all spin and "choose ACU," they speak about what is best for you and your goals.

But if you're doing teaching/nursing then DEF ACU.

if you are..university is not for you,

The university does say that secular people can enter the uni and they have the option to participate in any religious activities.

Also, what you said sort of contradicts.  Either way, if someone was Catholic or not, they should steer clear from ACU?

Strong atheism in this thread.

Most private schools have some sort of religious alignment but still produce able minds. Many of these successful people who attend them have no affiliation to any religion either.

OMG. Hello, my name is Amy. I attend the university with the best reputation for teaching in the state, if not the country. It's name is ACU. I'm not a Catholic.

The name, Australian Catholic University, is in fact, just a name. It does have a chapel, but so does Monash and Melbourne. It does have a theology course, but so do Monash and Melbourne. I does have a spiritual/counsellor componenent... which is purely optional and I have never actually been to them. ACU has a very strong sense of social justice, committment to their students well-being and the academic and personal status of their students.

So, why don't you pull your own self important head out of whatever orifice you have inserted it into and actually look at the facts. ACU is an excellent university for those who are considering studying teaching or nursing.
