^ Different schools have different SACs, therefore it's neccesary to complicate things in order to enhance "fairness."

I don't have a way to verify this (except by buying statement of results), but my teacher told me that any SAC total in the mid-90's for Methods gets scaled up to 100 for my school.

What, so all people with 95+ get the same SAC score? Or would their SAC score become the same as their individual exam scores? I heard something similar from my school as well.

SAC rankings are preserved after moderation, so SAC scores can't become the same as their individual exam score. In any case exam scores are more significant.
2009
~ Methods (Non-CAS) [48 --> 49.4]

2010
~ Spesh [50 --> 51.6]
~ Physics [50 --> 50]
~ Chem [43 --> 46.5]
~ English [46 --> 46.2]
~ UMEP Maths [5.0]

2010 ATAR: 99.90
Aggregate 206.8

And in some cases, some teachers give a lot their students 100% for their SAC scores.

In Biology: my teacher took marks off for spelling mistakes and image quality... just to pull the students apart in rankings...
Great SAC system lol..
That sucks :( Sometimes i just wish that the SACS were external so there is none of this moderating business =="

I wonder what happens if more than one person has the same rank in a specific cohort.
I think what would happen for example would be, say that 3 people are all ranked 1st in a subject, then their moderated SAC mark would be the average of the top 3 exam marks in their cohort.  It seems fair I suppose.

Yep, IIRC that's what happens. My spesh teacher said that's why MHS has such hard Maths SACs, since if the rankings overlap in any way (e.g. a few people all get 100% for each SAC), it really doesn't benefit anyone in the end.
