Does anyone miss Year 12?

So before you guys shoot me down for asking this - I will explain my above statement:

In coming back online and reading some of the posts on VCE, I've come to realise how much I really enjoyed the VCE.

I enjoyed the fact that I knew what I was doing at all times - there was nothing exactly "surprising" about the VCE (ie. work hard and then reap the rewards)
I enjoyed my teachers and friends - they were all special and unique; and surprisingly, I even miss teachers who I "disliked" when I was back at school
I miss the atmosphere of school; in particular, the safety of school routine
I miss exploring subjects of interest in a very structured environment (as we all know, what you learn in VCE is only the tip of the iceberg in whatever subject you undertake)
I even miss being intellectually stimulated - I don't feel particularly stretched in reading Harry Potter and watching TV.

Is it just me being ultra-nostalgic, or does anyone else feel that Year 12 was one of the best years they've ever had in their young lives?

To an extent. I definitely enjoyed naptime.

However, with that being said, I went to a Prep-Year 12 school, so my feelings about Primary School are very closely tied to my senior years at that school.

The maths was boring.

It was all about perfecting and training yourself into a robot that doesn't make careless mistakes rather than learning.

But surely you enjoyed other aspects - like the atmosphere and (I'm assuming) some sort of leadership position?

I did enjoy the other aspects, but VCE outweighed the other aspects, thus year 12 was overall shit for me.

Despite the horrors of that year, I do sort of miss it. Especially the atmosphere and the moments when everyone used to start panicking when answers were shared after a SAC/Exam.

Oh, and also - I really miss the strong bond formed between our year level (especially during the last few weeks of our schooling lives); I definitely think that people forgot about petty feuds, and just started to respect either other.

Also, the very very odd sense of motivation I got thinking about excelling in my studies - it was a hunger that I had never felt before about anything else; I hope I still feel the same hunger about my uni studies...

I'm definitely quite looking forward to going back to a school reunion. It will be great to see how people have excelled and moved on.

I'm actually quite seriously considering going back to school and offering my help - especially in the drama department. :) Yay or nay?

Yeah definitely.
And also, as a Year 12, you were given so many licenses to do whatever you pleased (both from parents and teachers). It was so good, to be guided, yet given so much freedom.

It definitely was NOT the best year, rather, a memorable one.

Hmm. I guess you could argue that. Personally, I thought it was the best year of my life. I knew who my friends were, I had success both academically and outside my studies, I was given liberty to pretty much act as I pleased and I felt many strong emotions and a thirst to prove myself (although I have definitely both before, it was definitely not to the same intensity as it was in Year 12) - thus, I think it was both memorable and the best year of my life :)
