And Chemistry is more rote-learning than Physics even though you can bring a cheat-sheet in for Physics and you can't for Chem?

Damn insomnia.

Your post doesn't really make sense, since cheatsheet = less to memorize and thus less "rote-learning" (unless I have misunderstood the terminology).

Here's my thinking - a cheatsheet means that the co-ordinators believe that there is so much that has to be rote-learned, that they give students the benefit of a cheatsheet. But then again, they give a massive data book for Chem.

But since they do give you the cheatsheet, you can hardly say that it still requires more rote-learning than chem.

how difficult would it to do physics 3/4 (& possibly excel) without the 1/2? would there be much to catch up on?

Yeah, you would have to work harder obviously, but it is definitely possible, unlike with some other subjects like chem
