Dearest y'all,

My name is Daniel Fantin and I am a tutor with experience and a Sagittarius and my favourite colour is yellow if you really wanted to know. I didn't. I completed my VCE in 2008 as Dux of my school with an ENTER score of 99.80. My raw study scores were as follows:

Mathematical Methods CAS: 50
Specialist Mathematics: 47
Chemistry: 49
Physics: 45
English: 43

At uni (I am studying Civil Engineering and Infrastructure/Business Management at RMIT) I achieved HD for every subject.

Throughout the year 2009 I did some things. To the people reading this notice, the most relevant thing I did was tutor 15 students (all were in Years 11 and 12). I gained a great deal of experience and was immensely proud to see some of my students in the upper echelons of the state. Not only this, I also saw some of my students who began Year 12 not believing they could get subject scores over 20 end up getting 35 and over. This year, due to uni demands, I will not be taking as many students. I kept all my Year 11 students from last year (5 of them) so I only have room for another 5 students. Please PM me ASAP if interested or email [email protected].

I believe I am a particularly hard-working tutor also. I produce my own tailor-made Mathematical Methods CAS exams (I have made 3 tech-free and 3 tech-rich - Same number of questions/marks as VCAA papers and greater difficulty and laden with poor-quality Tasmania Jones jokes and strange Beatles-esque themes). They come with worked solutions. It takes a good 6 hours to produce one of these and over the year I will endeavour to produce more for other subjects for my students.

I charge $30 per hour when I tutor at home (I live in Ivanhoe/Eaglemont/Heidelberg area) or when the house is within a 5 minute drive. Outside this I charge $40 per hour. I am happy to tutor at the state library. If the times are convenient (ie. during gaps in my uni timetable), I may charge $30ph at the library.

I am not a condescending person. I am an understanding, hard-working, patient, and enthusiastic tutor who will do everything possible to get the best out of my students. I teach concepts, not rote. I firmly believe that a good understanding of the concept prevents you from having to rote learn millions of specific details. Good examples of this are the Photoelectric effect (Physics), LeChateliers Principle and Electrolytic Cells (Chemistry), Dynamics (Spesh), plus others. Essentially you learn more with less work. I also tell horrific jokes.

What is the hottest letter in the alphabet? B because it makes oil boil.

Why did the snail paint and 'S' on it's car? So people would say 'look at that S-car-go!'

Thanking you all for taking time out of your day to read this message and I wish you the bestest of luck

Sincerely,

Daniel Fantin

I don't tutor English goya101 but I have an extensive volume of notes that can be of benefit to my students. This includes notes on the novels (The Kite Runner, Lake of the Woods), Identity and Belonging Context, and my foolproof way of writing an analysis. But I dont tutor English because I hated it and its a stupid subject.
