Just a random question, what's the fundamental difference between Methods CAS and non-CAS? (Seeing as non-CAS is henceforth non-existent in the VCAA world).

I think it's mainly the whole thing about using a more advanced calculator.

Actually CAS had matrices whilst Non-Cas didn't (I believe)

No, I checked the Study Designs a little while ago, MM non-CAS has matrices in it.
Oh yeh, and also calculus questions require more exact answers in CAS.

CAS is different to non-CAS in the following ways:
-use of calculator
-matrix calculations involving arithmetic, transformations, identifying solutions, solving simultaneous equations through matrix methods, absolute maximum/absolute minimum, average value of a function, an emphasis on markov chains and functional notation identities.

It is said that the use of the CAS calculator makes it simpler to solve certain non-CAS questions. Thus these concepts are added to make the course up to scratch with non-CAS who use the standard TI-84 etc.

Mmm iTute was so hard that out of the 4 iTute exams I did, I couldn't finish 2 of them in the 2 hours limit, and there wasn't any other exam I couldn't complete in the time limit. If I remember correctly, the exam that took the shortest was TSSM 2007 Exam 2.

I was thinking more along the lines of trying some easier ones now or in the next few months,
then doing the rest leading up to the end of the year. But I get what you mean :)

I didn't start practice exams until the September holidays, and I still got 30 done. But that's not going to work this year =(

You must have been super organised. I started mid July to finish more than 30 sets. But I had two 3/4s so I guess it worked out. But yeah that probably won't work in year 12 - it might, but it'd be far too stressful.

I just made sure I did one full practice exam (exam 1 + 2) each day, even on schooldays.

How did you have the time on a school night??? I could only do about two exam 1s and a Psych exam on a school night...

That's amazing, considering you said you spent ages analysing your errors. I did that as well. That's so so important. I didn't understand how some people could just do trial exam after trial exam and then correct them all in one go. Where's the learning that takes place?
