Caffeine is great :) but I don't drink coffee, so I usually get my intake from coke.

There is next to no caffeine in coca cola, however i feel i might be ruining your placebo effect by telling you this.

coke has about 9.72 mg/100mls
V has about 31.1mg/100ml
Red bull is about 32mg/100mls
Brewed coffee is about 45.5 mg/100mls
& a single nodoz tablet is about 200mg

What kind of exercise?

I'd imagine aerobic exercise (you do it for a long amount of time and it involves you breathing, eg running) as opposed to anaerobic exercise (short bursts of high intensity, eg weight lifting) would do the most good. Probably because theyd increase blood flow to the brain and just generally blood flow around the body.

I myself am a long distance runner, i run about 7.5 km every second day and i dont really notice a benefit - but then again i don't do it to make me more intelligent.

Edit: I'd also like to make the point, these substances wont make you magically smarter or probably produce any dramatic improvement. They'll more likely be some subtle effect, even if you just do take them and sit there it wont accomplish much - VCE is still hard work in and good results out.

With energy drinks I don't think it's just the caffeine but all the other chemicals. A coffee in the morning leaves me feeling refreshed and calm, whilst energy drinks energize you really quickly (and the effect drops really quickly) and you get even more stressed.

As for exercise, I probably should exercise to just be more healthy.

Is caffeine supposed to give you an energy buzz or something? I don't feel it...I had a sugar-free V this morning to see if I would gain the energy and enthusiasm to continue studying (I tend to work at night and bludge in the day, want to try and break that habit)...didn't feel any difference. I drink tea at around 10ish pm all the time as well. :P
Hmm...next year already. Well better set my goals and all...(raw)

It's not like some magical potion or something, if you are deadset about not studying during the day, that's not likely to change after drinking some V :P

You probably get some of the buzz from the sugar, I expect. Although it's short-lived.

Sleeping at night can also help your ability to study :P

Why use drugs? Half an hour of exercise a day can make a huge difference :)

Diabetic, can't use sugar for the buzz and fake sugar don't give one lol. I sleep 7-10 hours a day though so idk.

i would often went for a walk/jog in the evening before i studied and it worked, gets you active and doing things without the risk of a crash like after coffee

Commonly reported adverse effects due to caffeine used in the quantities present in Red Bull are insomnia, nervousness, headache, and tachycardia (see Caffeine intoxication).

Hmmm, that explains a lot of things actually :P Thanks Edmund.
