Don't ever play gaythoveen, playing his shit music will only make you more stressed :P
iv played his stuff before :P not too bad haha
although now im playing: mozart, scarlatti, albeniz and quilter

I practised every day, partly as a procrastination tool, partly for a change from the endless studying, and partly because I still had concerts and stuff organised :P

Far from detracting from your study time, I think it is actually an effective way to break the monotony and keep your motivation and interest up.

Though of course if it stresses you out too much, probably best to give it a break.
procrastination tool? haha good idea

I felt so much better about procrastinating if I was spending that time doing something half productive :P (even though most of the time instead of actually practising I'd muck around playing piano transcriptions of the Nutcracker, etc.)

Anything earlier than Beethoven is WAY too repetitive; Beethoven is good (yay for Pastoral symphony); woohoo for Romantic and 20th Century classical!!!

I've got like three versions on CD, but the Sibelius concerto is, according to Wiki, 'purely virtuosic', so no surprises that I'm failing.

He's great, except the drama that he achieves in his pieces are too unrestrained and almost become comical moments.
Romantic composers have much more warmth of tone and also express a wider range of feelings in their music.

MAHLER SYMPHONIES FTW!!! :D

It's all about Rachmaninoff. Someday I will get around to learning his 2nd piano concerto (never mind the fact that it'll take me years to learn...). Beethoven isn't all bad, some of his (orchestral) pieces are decent.
Baroque and Classical music can go fuck itself though.

Thank you, Baroque music is way too repetitive, you can almost predict every note based on the previous one :)
Rachmaninoff is a great composer, but who could possibly be even greater than Stravinsky??? :P
