no, like what chapter do we start and what sort of topics.

u can write an essay on any topic/chaper in the el course, in fact most of the sacs (if not all) r essays
but common topics include the notion of standard australian english, language variation according to use/user, attitudes to different varieties, language change, standidisation/codification of language etc
the list is endless so just write essays after each chapter/area of study, and if you have done units 1/2 you should already be able to write a few basic ones

For unit 3 I have 4 SACs. First up we have a short answer then the other 3 are essays. The first essay is scheduled for week 8. Its all up to your school.

I looked at unit 4 sacs. There are 4 short answer sacs and no essays. Weird. We basically have 2 Sacs for each outcome. I dont know if its good or bad. Each SAC is worth 6.25% which means if I go badly on one it doesnt mean THAT much but if I go really well - again, it doesnt really count for much.

dw, all your sac marks can change depending on your exam mark, ie my sac grade changed by about 2 letter grades
as for which is better to do (essay vs short answer) its very important you are exposed to both in sacs and i would do some essays outside of class and have your teacher mark it if possible (since your sacs are very short answer based)

Ive been writing essays all summer, and going across them by my tutor.
You can already write on many topics if you havnt finished the course as yet....

Like, Globalisation, Language Change, Prestige etc. etc.

All you have to make sure is too find good essay Questions.
( I asked my tutor, and teacher for them at end of school last year.)
