Three Unit 3/4 Subjects in Year 11 - how hard is it?

I know a few people who have completed either 3 unit 3/4 subjects in Year 11 or 1 unit 3/4 subject in Year 10 and 2 in Year 11. How hard is it really to do that?

so far i am noticing very little difference between 1/2 and 3/4, so I am going to say not very.
wish i could have done more 3/4's in year 11.

Totally doable, but it really depends on how motivated you are and how much you enjoy the subject. I know people who picked up 3/4s for the sake of it, ending up disliking it and gave up because they know they have year 12 to make up for it.

I wanted to do two 3/4's last year but the school wouldn't let me do psych (but I could do bio where I had 0 background knowledge instead) and then a month into the term my psych teacher asked me why I didn't do 3/4 psych instead.

So much rage.

Can't really speak for three but I did two 3/4 subjects last year. I found that they were quite similar to the rest of my 1/2s (except that  consistently studied in them). I would say to complete 3 3/4 subjects would be quite simple, however doing well would require commitment :)

Three is managable, but hardly anyone ever does it.  My friend's brother did it in year 11, and he ended up getting something like 36 in Chinese, 47 in Methods and 43 in Music.  99.90 ENTER the next year.

On the other hand, most schools won't allow you to do it.  Mine, for one, refuses.

Our school only lets you if you undertake something in years 9 and 10, and that's always (as far as I've heard) a LOTE that someone already speaks fluently.

I wouldn't say it's too difficult. I think it'd be easier to accelerate science (rather than a humanities subject) because less work is required and it's more objective.

Wow...epic scores.

I was thinking, would it have been wise to do an English subject in Year 11, so you have a fallback and not just one chance at nailing the English requisite? I envy those who've done that...not naming anyone in particular *cough cough*

@ EZ - so your school only allows a max of two subjects in Year 11?

Eh, I think I would have done better at English Language in year 12. Then again, perhaps not. With the English subjects, it might not matter when you do them - they're still going to be subjective to some extent, but it's probably a good idea to take two (so long as you enjoy them).

It's almost always a better idea to do English in year 12.  Again, taking an example from my school, you absolutely cannot do English in year 11.  At all.

In regards to the max of two subjects, nobody in living memory has tried, but given that you have to give an arm and a leg to do two 3/4s (and this is for straight A+ students...) it's incredibly unlikely they would allow anyone to do three.

I think 3 is a bit much. And most take it for granted and dont study for it until its too late and get like low 30s study score so its basically useless. Im guessing your school is also pretty lenient to let you do Three 3/4s in Year 11, our school barely lets us do one. They encouraged us to do 1/2 in year 10 but then some got rejected for 3/4 in year 11 cause they werent good enough.

I did a 3/4 in year 10 and two in year 11, and it was no more difficult than any other normal subject. I think the most difficult thing about it is getting your school to agree in the first place!
