you shouldnt be deciding your career on the demand of it.
its seems that you're probably quite focused on making plenty of money and therefore it seems you're drawn to law/medicine due to the common public conception that all doctors/lawyers are very well off.
i would; along with many other people on this forum, suggest that you simply follow a career that interests you. there is money to be made in every career; and if its something your passionate about you'll probably exceed in that field and end up making plenty of money
This is very well put. If you are going to try and mould your career to demand, then you could end up very depressed later in life.
By all means everyone will have to do some tradeoff, but to say "this is in demand, I want that job" is bad. At the end of the day you will get the rewards of that job, but you have to spend your time actually doing that job, if you don't like your job it will be tough on you.
I love this quote: "find your dream job and you will never have to work a day in your life". In first year uni I found maths and physics don't seem like work, but rather hobbies of mine. Whilst I found engineering anything but that.
If you have some area of study you really enjoy, don't pass it up for something higher in demand.
