316-102       Introductory Microeconomics
316-130       Quantitative Methods 1
333-101       Finance 1
620-155       Calculus 2

Can anyone explain this though: for some reason i got an email saying that I do NOT meet the pre-req's of Calculus 2. This is despite having done Specialist last year and achieving a score greater than 27 (the minimum). Wtf?? Going to have to call them tomorrow..
When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be AWESOME instead. True story.

It happens to everyone, they need to manually confirm you.

Alright, awesome. I'll just let them handle it in their own time then :)

800-001 Mind, Brain and Behaviour 1

I have absolutely no idea why I'm doing 800-001.

This subject was so fun. It's an easy H1 too.

Really?  I guess I shouldn't be complaining then, should I?  lol

You write one essay worth 40%, the exam is 60%. Simon (one of the lecturers) GIVES everyone his exam question section and it's up to you to find out the answers.

I heard the essay was describing the sunset/sunrise in 1000 words - can't be sure though =/

Real Analysis and Thermal & Classical physics should be cool, I'm slightly scared of quantum mechanics & special relativity

Haha I was thinking the exact opposite. What (little) I know about quantum mechanics & special relativity I love.

These two areas of physics are obviously the most interesting to me, but some parts of them can be really weird and difficult to understand. Especially the paradoxes in special relativity (e.g. Pole in shed paradox).

The maths in special relativity is extremely easy (Lorentz transformation maths is easy), but conceptually it is much more difficult (understanding what data is what in an event takes up 95% of the work).

Quantum physics such as atomic physics, quantum light model is all good, but shrodinger equations are confusing (not doing the maths, but the concept behind them).

As I said though, I love these areas of physics and am probably scared because we only spent 2 weeks of lectures covering quantum mechanics and 2 lectures covering special relativity.

I don't have a problem with essays, but describing the sunset/sunrise in that many words is a little bit ridiculous in my opinion for an exam question.  I hope that isn't the case or else I'm changing subjects a.s.a.p.

What majors interest you?

If it's something health related, then do physics, chemistry and biology. If your aspiring to become a psychologist (you probably aren't because you don't like writing) then stay with psychology or if you would like to pursue maths then swap psychology with physics.

It's not an exam question. It's a take home assignment that you have 1 month or so to do. And it's not just purely descriptive, you'll have to link it to the visual pathway. I'm not sure if they'll keep the sunset question though.

Don't treat this subject as purely artsy or whatever. The first lecture series by Jason is extremely biology orientated. You'll be learning about the brain and eyes in great detail.
